Curry On Up The Dale 6 (5 February 2010)
Rochdale Supporters Trust is delighted to announce details of the eagerly awaited
"Curry On Up The Dale 6" in association with Mr Heat.
This season's curry evening take place on Thursday 1 April, starting at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) and this year we are moving to a bigger venue as we expect huge ticket sales for this increasingly popular event.
This year’s curry night will take place at the excellent Copper Pot on Sandbrook Park and the guest speakers will be the highly popular 1990's Dale duo 'Whitehall & Reeves'.
Alan Reeves became Rochdale’s record sale in a £300,000 move to then Premier League outfit Wimbledon in 1994. The legend had been with Dale for three seasons and had won Player of the Year in each of those seasons. No other player has ever won this award in three consecutive years.
Fellow Scouser Steve Whitehall will make up the other half of the hilarious duo. “Whitey” made 282 appearances scoring 92 goals, which puts him near the top of Dale’s all time appearances league and third in the highest scorer league.
They are making their second appearance as a double act in Rochdale following a one-off Forum with the pair in our centenary season. Anyone who was there that night will be able to vouch for the excellent entertainment they provided.
They will both speak about their times at Spotland under the distinctive management style of Dave Sutton, and then the floor will be open for a Q&A session.
The evening will be compered by the club’s very own Iain Johnstone who has kindly accepted our invitation to host the event.
Tickets are available from the matchday Trust Desks (Dale Bar/ Studd’s Bar), The Copper Pot, and the Rochdale AFC club shop. Tickets prices are Members - £22 & Non Members - £25. Ticket reservations can be made by email to info@daletrust.org.uk
This is a not to be missed date for your diary, as anyone who attended any of the previous five curry nights will testify, so round up a group of mates, have a really good night…and don’t worry about work on the Friday as it’s Good Friday!
Next Bowlee fundraiser - Lancashire Night (17 January 2010)
Rochdale Supporters Trust is bringing you a taste of Lancashire with a special event dedicated to our great county.
The Trust's inaugural 'Lancashire night' is taking place in the Ratcliffe Suite at Spotland on Saturday 20 February at 8pm. For full details visit our forthcoming events page.
Mobile Amnesty Raises £1,700 (17 December 2009)
Rochdale Supporters Trust is delighted to announce that the recent mobile phone amnesty raised a grand total of £1,751.25.
The Trust would like to thank every fan who donated an old handset to the Trust and after much hard work behind the scenes we are pleased to reveal our first total.
Each handset was catalogued and although we did, perhaps naively, expect more cash for each one, we are pleased with the end result. Of the 404 phones we received in the amnesty, 258 were worth a cash return.
The Trust would like to thank fonebank.com. After much research into all of the companies
that offer money for old mobiles, they offered us the best return for our hoard and we have now built up a relationship with the company to ensure us good value for our old phones in the future.
Members of the Trust board have learned a lot through this first attempt and the end result has spurred us on to continue this project with another amnesty in the new year.
More details of the next amnesty will be released soon but in the meantime, if you get a new phone for Christmas, make sure you save your old handset for the Trust.
The Trust would also like to thank a mystery benefactor, who has fulfilled a promise to compliment any Trust project that raises more than £1000 before Christmas by topping up the total by an extra £1,000.
Disappointingly, the Trust recently received a resignation announcement from board member Mark Sweetmore, an announcement that the rest of the board felt moved to accept. The Trust would like to thank Mark for his efforts, especially for raising the initial idea for the phone amnesty.
A Christmas present to all Trust members (7 December 2009)
The Dale Supporters Trust is backing the club's Christmas Draw and will be rewarding each member this Christmas by buying them a ticket for the draw as a present.
Whilst we continue to campaign hard for the Bowlee Project, the Trust wanted to spread some Christmas cheer and boost club coffers by buying each of our member's a £1 Christmas Draw ticket as part of their £5 membership subscription.
The Trust has given a cheque worth £557 to club, giving the Trust 557 tickets for the big draw on Saturday 19 December.
We will be donating the tickets back to the club, giving them a £1112 discount on KFC food that they can use as they wish.
Keeping the Bowlee project in mind, if the Trust wins anything in the big draw we will be donating the prize directly back to Bowlee. If we win some cash it will bring us ever closer to our target.
The Trust believes that this timely boost for the club will help in the long and the short term as we look to boost club coffers and benefit Bowlee all at the same time.
Obviously if we had more members we would be able to make a larger contribution to the Christmas Draw. If you are not yet a member you need to get on board and Trust membership would be make an ideal small present for friends or family. You can join the Trust in the Dale Bar or Studds on matchdays or by visiting our website at www.daletrust.org.uk. It only costs a fiver, a £1 of which would go to the Christmas Draw and £4 would go towards Bowlee. It's a win win situation for any Dale fan.
We're all pulling together!
Mobile Amnesty Update (2 December 2009)
The Trust would like to go on record and thank all supporters who donated old mobile phones during our recent amnesty. The response was so high that we were hit with a far bigger workload than we had anticipated. We received more than 300 handsets in total and we are now in the process of cataloging them before sending them off to be turned into cash. We will release the total figure raised as soon as we know it but we are hoping that the sum will be in the thousands. The response to the initial amnesty was so good that we are hoping to host another amnesty soon and if anyone has any old phones in the meantime then don't hesitate to bring them along to one of the Trust desks on matchdays.
2009 Christmas Draw (30 November 2009)
Dale Supporters Trust has teamed up with RochdaleAFC.com to help the club maximise sales for this year's Christmas draw.
The annual Xmas Draw has always been part of the fabric of the club and it makes a huge difference to the finances down at Spotland. Thousands of tickets have been sent out by the club, and supporters are urged to play their part and sell those that they have been sent.
To help encourage supporters to sell their tickets, RochdaleAFC.com have set up a messageboard league table where fans can post the number of tickets that they have sold. All supporters who have sold twenty tickets or more will be entered into a draw to win a £20 Club Shop voucher, as donated by the Rochdale Supporters Trust. Details of this are available here.
This year's Xmas Draw is without doubt the biggest that has ever been organised, with prizes above and beyond anything offered before. The top prize is £1000, 2nd prize is a Plasma TV and 3rd prize a Xmas hamper worth £250. There are many, many more prizes available.
In the event of selling the tickets, supporters are advised to contact the club shop to obtain further tickets.

First week of Mobile Amnesty a success (27 October 2009)
Rochdale Supporters Trust would like to thank all fans who donated old mobile phones to the Trust at Saturday's game against Accrington. The Trust collected around 300 phones in week 1, which will now be recycled to raise money towards the Bowlee training ground project.
The first week of the amnesty has exceeded all expectations and the Trust is asking supporters to keep up the effort. Don't worry if you forgot to bring any old mobiles on Saturday as the project is continuing for the foreseeable future.
There is the phone amnesty point in the Club Shop at Spotland where you can leave your old phones at any time during normal opening hours, or you can hand them directly to the Trust at one of the desks in Studds or the Dale Bar before any home game.
If you can't make it to Spotland any time soon but have some old phones that you want to get rid of, you can post them direct to the Trust at PO Box 1907, Rochdale, Lancs, OL16 9EX.Alternatively, if you have 10 or more handsets to donate, Email oldmobiles@daletrust.org.uk and we will arrange to collect them from you.
The Trust would like to go on record and thank those that have donated mobiles so far, as well as Rochdaleafc.com for its part in promoting the amnesty. It's for a good cause, it's good for the environment, and it's making sure we have a bespoke training facility for the first time in our history, which Team Rochdale undoubtedly deserve.

Mobile Phone Amnesty (12 October 2009)
We are asking all Dale fans to 'dig deep' and donate any old mobile phone handsets they have to the Trust. The handsets don't even have to be working, they all count towards the total.
We will be collecting handsets before all Dale home games at Trust desks and behind the turnstiles versus Accrington Stanley. Supporters can also post their old mobiles into us at POBox 1907, Rochdale, Lancs. OL16 9EX.
We are obviously aiming to raise as much money as possible through this, and have a fan willing to give us £1000 towards Bowlee, as soon as we have raised £1000 through the amnesty.
A quick fact: if every Dale fan brings an old mobile to the Accrington Stanley game, Bowlee would be paid for. What bigger incentive do we need?
So get asking your friends and family, rummage through those drawers and dig out your old mobiles. Each handset is a step closer to the training facility Keith Hill and his team deserve.
